Give Back Credit Project
August 2021

"I was so fortunate to work with Steve from SomewhereSky on documenting our textile heritage residency based in Scotland in Summer 2021. Before I connected with Steve it was daunting for me to plan a filming schedule with little knowledge about film; there were so many elements I hadn’t considered in my planning, and I was grateful to work with Steve on getting the best out of the project. Even with a very brief outline, Steve was able to understand the narrative of the project and translate this into shots and sequences to bring the project to life on screen. The whole team benefitted so much from Steve’s extensive experience in direction, production, cinematography and performance too. The residency was based in and around Inverness and we were able to include locations we hadn’t previously considered due to Steve’s local knowledge and wealth of filming experience in the Highlands (especially how to work with the changeable weather!). We are so thankful to Steve for his wealth of knowledge and experience, but also his energy for getting the best of every filming opportunity, and endless patience with us film rookies”
